Matt is an exceptional director and instructor. He is very effective as a leader and extremely knowledgeable on the content covered in the class room and in the gym. Matt is consistent with his high level of professional communication and extremely encouraging. Matt made an effort to get to know us individually and always took the time to confirm understanding and provide direction. He sent me away with confidence and enthusiasm. I'm grateful for that!
Attending NPTI was one of the best decisions that I have ever made! The entire program far exceeded my expectations of what Personal Training School was all about. I now have the confidence and skills to excel as a Personal Trainer and the inspiration to share this knowledge with my community. The high quality instructors, along with the classroom and practical experience, have provided me with the essential tools to build an exciting and rewarding future. Thank you Matt!
For most of my adult life I worked in the financial industry. I got certified as a personal trainer in 2008. It was one of those self study, weekend workshop deals. I learned the bare minimum of Personal Training, even with this minimal knowledge I started training clients. It was not until I got the opportunity of enrolling in NPTI that I found out I knew NOTHING. NPTI really educated me on anatomy, how the body works, exercise programming, nutrition and countless other things that I would have never known had I not taken the course. Before I got my diploma from NPTI, I would have NEVER had the confidence to apply for personal training positions in any reputable fitness studio. Now that I do, I feel that at least I have the knowledge and skill to compete with others out there with 4 year degrees in this field. I recently was hired on as a personal trainer for Epec Fitness Studios and because of the education received from NPTI, I am confident in my skill as a trainer and believe that I will flourish in my new career!
I wouldn't still be in the industry if it weren't for NPTI and Matt Bean. I was able to take my personal experiences and combine them with the knowledge I developed through NPTI to further my success. After completing NPTI, I was more than prepared to sit for any of the national certifications. I chose to sit for the NSCA exam due to my experience in the athletic field, and passed with flying colors! If I had to do it all over again I certainly would go through the program again. I enjoyed every bit of the class and the 6 months I was there flew by.
Monster walk? Deadlift? Though I had started at NPTI in October and Halloween was fast approaching, somehow I didn’t think there was a connection between these terms and the holiday. I needed to know in what planes of motion these exercises occurred, but first I had to find out what these exercises were!
My athletic endeavors over the past 48 years had taken me into the aerobic realm, and I could easily answer questions relating to sports such as running and swimming. But when it came to dumbbells, resistance bands, and weight machines, I knew very little. I wanted to learn – and to learn well – not just for myself, but for the others whom I wanted to help in their journeys to fitness and good health, as I began a new career.
After an exciting 6 months at NPTI, where I was both mentally and physically stimulated and challenged, I am happy to report that I am now very confident in the gym. Not only do I know what the monster walk and the deadlift are, I know several variations and progressions of each. Not only do I know in what planes they occur, I know what muscles they work, and I know how and why. I know where in an exercise routine they should be placed, and I know when they should not be used.
Matt Bean is an excellent instructor - very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Though he’s been known to crack a few smiles, he is serious, as he wants his students to graduate as some of the best personal trainers in the field. He keeps his students on their toes and purveys an incredible amount of knowledge. I cannot begin to tell you how much I have learned and how confident I feel with that knowledge!
I highly recommend NPTI in Charlotte - it is a superior program!
NPTI Charlotte will teach you to push yourself, which is vital if you want to be able to push others towards their fitness goals. Matt Bean is an incredible instructor with more knowledge of the field and industry than any published book you will find on shelves. The manner in which he is able to simplify the most intricate concepts is astonishing. I only wish I could have spent more time in the program, but alas working as a trainer is the next step in your own progression. The program leaves no stone unturned and is truly breeding a new brand of trainer. After six months with NPTI I feel ready to pursue any training opportunity that is presented to me. I also would feel comfortable speaking with doctors or anyone in the health and wellness field. This is the quality of education that NPTI provides.
National Personal Training Institute? When I first heard about this I thought it was just another pop up that came when I entered anything with fitness or a trainer on Google. Well boy was I wrong. This class is the best thing I could have done to get more equipped in the fitness game. I was already a certified personal trainer, BUT the 6 week class I took before this class was NOTHING compared to the 6 months of knowledge that I gained from NPTI Charlotte. Skin fold test, biogenetics, program design (the right way), muscle imbalance testing, flexibility, how the heart works, VO2max and so much more. This is one class that will set you aside from all the rest. There are "rep counters" and there are NPTI graduates who are REAL KNOWLEDGEABLE TRAINERS. The best part about this class is not only do you get in top notch shape, but you also build a family within the class between the students and the teacher, Matt Bean.
I have always been someone who exercised in some manner and then when I had children, they played several sports and experienced training and sometimes therapy through all of those years. And about 12 years ago, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis where I also found that nutrition and exercise were huge factors in managing this disease. For the last few years, I have been really thinking about how I can be a part of the health and wellness world. I had recently moved to Charlotte and found the National Personal Training Institute online. I then went to talk with Matt Bean about the program and got very excited about it but was dragging my feet based on the number of years that it had been since I had been in a class like this. I decided to jump in and really do not have words to describe how excited I have become about what I have learned and the desire to learn more. The class is pretty fast paced with new material covered each week. It took me a couple of weeks to get into a rhythm of the schedule of events, but after that, the material was always so interesting, it was just a matter of being in class and keeping up with notes. Matt is a great instructor. It is very evident that he has a passion for the information that he is teaching. He was always patient with all the questions, even if some of them were asked over and over again. Which, many times they were! I also liked how the class was broken into class hours and actual gym hours where you are experiencing first hand actual training techniques with your future clients. You really end up bonding with your classmates, as you learn to lean on each other while you are all learning together.
NPTI Charlotte has definitely changed my life for the better. I knew personal training was the path I wanted to take in life, but I just didn't know how to get started. Matt Bean not only teach's you how to get started and be the best personal trainer but gives you the confidence to succeed. NPTI is the best way to get started in the fitness industry.
